                12:00 PM Captain Dave Stewart
                Striper Fishing “Dawn to Dusk”

I was born and bred fishing the central eastern coast. I have fished inner and close shore outer banks of NC for 40+ years avidly. I fish mostly inshore and close offshore chasing trout, flounder, drum, stripe bass and cobia. In my past, I was an avid recreational/tournament fisherman. I placed first in the Baileys Marina inshore event in approximately 1985 for trout. I also took 2nd and 3rd place in Carteret County Light Tackle event in 1986 and 1987. I then stopped tournament fishing and continued personal fishing spending most every weekend on the water. I retired my career job early in 2007 and decided to continue my days on the water as a fishing guide. I have since been guiding fishing trips in the eastern NC coastal waters targeting the same aforementioned fish for 12 years. I have also a participated in tagging speckled trout as a NC Marine Fisheries study to look at sustainment of our resources. Through this period, I have worked with VISITNC.com doing a tourism promotional video of our local fishing, ran the camera boat for George Poveromos Saltwater Series, which ran on ESPN on 2 events, I provide fishing reports to Fisherman’s Post and Coastal Angler Magazine; writing a National publicized article on Bull Drum Fishing in Eastern NC, and was featured on the Carolina Outdoor Journal shows aired on UNCTV. I also filmed with Jim Simones Kayak Fishing featured on World Fishing Network catching huge drum on light tackle. I was recognized on Addictive Fishing – Blair Wiggins show mentoring him and a guide on catching Huge drum in our waters. I also own and operate Minnesott Beach Bait & Tackle selling, repairing Minn Kota and Power Pole products that I use. It is a small shop focusing on what is the best for our local fishermen. I spend numerous hours teaching folks on how to use lures and gear and what species each is best for. Also Minn Kota Authorized Service Center and sales and install. My current sponsors are: Columbia Sportswear, DOA Lures, Maui Jim, Rapala Lures, Fins Braid, Diawa and Frogg Togg Products. I fish a fully rigged out 2014 Key West 23 Bay Reef. I spend around 200 days annually on our local waters as well extensive and hosted trips to Florida/Texas challenging local species in off season here.
